Gérard Depardieu was detained by the Paris police. The French actor is accused of sexual harassment by several women. This is not Depardieu's first case of harassment, he has been accused of something similar before.
The 75-year-old actor was accused by two women of sexually harassing them on film sets. the Le Figaro writes that the first case happened ten years ago, in 2014 in Magicien et les Siamois (The Magician and the Siamese), and the other in 2021, in Volets Verts (Green Shutters ) on the set.
The first complaint was made by an assistant who was 24 years old at the time of filming, and the second by a 53-year-old set designer. Both said that Depardieu took them in and said indecent things to them, Magyar Nemzet recalls.
Depardieu is already under investigation for allegedly harassing actress Charlotte Arnoux. In April of last year, the online publication Mediapart collected the testimonies of 13 women who claimed that they were confronted with sexual acts by the actor during the filming of 11 films and TV series between 2004 and 2022.
The actor has stated several times that he has never abused women in his life, and last year fifty-six of his colleagues, including Pierre Richard and Carla Bruni, came to his defense in an open letter, saying that a real lynching was taking place against their colleague. As before, Gérard Depardieu denies the accusations.
