In a disappointed post, Péter Magyar announced that the Tisza Party would not set up county lists. According to Magyar's post, his party made this decision, but at the same time, it is likely that his party's knife broke into the collection of signatures and the national logistics, but the continuous scandals surrounding his candidates could also have played a role in the failure.
Péter Magyar's party may have significant logistical problems
Even before Magyar's announcement, it could be guessed that there was a big problem with the signature collection of the Tisza Party in the county. In countless Facebook groups and on Discord, you could read that Péter Magyar's activists fought quite desperately for signatures on the county list, even in the last moments. This fact shows that the party has serious logistical difficulties, it is possible that the collection of signatures caused a big problem in several counties.
A series of scandals surrounding Péter Magyar's candidates
The national collection of signatures was not helped by the fact that attackable and unsettling details emerge almost daily from the past of Péter Magyar's people.
Magyar Nemzet, for example, reported in April that the vice president of Péter Magyar's party was an agent and informer. According to the paper, Deák Boldizsár not only profited from one-armed robbers, but as an informer for the party-state secret services, under the pseudonym Sólyom, he could also write reports before the regime change.
According to their information, before 1973 Deák was organized by the Ministry of the Interior after a shop theft,
and prepared reports on, among others, István Herman, an entrepreneur from Eger, who was a Fidesz member of parliament between 2010 and 2014.
A series of background figures and politicians of the Jobbik-Conservatives ended up on Péter Magyar's side.
Then it was revealed that Péter Magyar's mayoral candidate was the VII. in the district, the activist Béla Lajos, who is in regular contact with David Pressman and campaigns for the free flow of migrants and gender ideology, will be there. In the end, Magyar withdrew his support from Béla Lajos, which, in turn, gave a boost to the capital's liberal voters.
