According to the Prime Minister, "the European election has become more important than ever before".
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán expressed his opinion on what happened in a lengthy post on his social media site one day after the assassination of Robert Fico.
As he put it, "with the change of government following the Slovak election, Slovakia started on the road to pro-peace. This was a great help for Hungary.
Now this process has been suspended, shot in the cross".
The Hungarian Prime Minister then recalled that "a left-wing activist committed an assassination attempt against the Slovak Prime Minister. In the most important months, Robert Fico was out of a job. We are confident in his recovery, but today we have to fight for peace alone," he underlined.
At the end of his post, he noted, "from now on we have to fight with double strength, alone. The European election has become more important than ever".
"Violence must end! We must go and vote for peace on June 9!” Viktor Orbán closed the post.
