Zoltán Lomnici Jr. said regarding the assassination attempt against the Slovak Prime Minister, the perpetrator had previously expressed his opinion by participating in a pro-Ukraine demonstration that he opposed Robert Fico's pro-peace position. His intention with the five shots fired at the prime minister "was clearly to kill," the lawyer added.
Regarding the tense situation in Slovakia, he explained: it is clear that Slovakia had a pro-war government before the Fico government, which cooperated with Brussels in everything. Immediately after the change of government, the narrative was formulated that because the pro-peace Robert Fico does not want to get involved in the war, he is clearly pro-Russian.
According to the advisor of Századvég, those who say that war psychosis clearly forces politicians avoiding conflict to change their position are right.
"The pro-war, hateful protesters are trying to drag into the conflict those leaders who are on the side of peace. They are trying to push the given country into a state of civil war," he stated, then emphasized: this is not only the case in Slovakia, but also in Hungary.
Zoltán Lomnici Jr. concluded from all of this that they are trying to "squeeze" the relevant leaders into such a position that they are forced to accept the Brussels narrative and take a pro-war position.
Regarding the reasons for the assassination attempt against Fico, he explained that it cannot be separated from the fact that he advocated a conflict-avoiding, pro-peace position. Therefore, there was continuous hatred against him and his government.
The constitutional lawyer pointed out that
in recent weeks, a wave of hatred that has not been experienced before has started in Hungary as well, which many people associate with a newly emerging person and party.
Anyone who looks at the Facebook page of the Civil Unity Forum (CÖF) has read a series of comments about yesterday's attack in which they wished the death of the Hungarian Prime Minister, he said.
He called the never-before-seen but now escalating wave of hatred unprecedented and said that left-wing politicians and "one in particular" have a very heavy responsibility for this.
In relation to the June 1st peace march, the CÖF - Civil Unity spokesperson expressed the message of the 10th anniversary peace march as follows: it is necessary to show our solidarity with the pro-peace government to an unprecedented extent, as well as to show it in the context of a march. that this pro-peace policy is supported by the majority of Hungarians.
The procession starts from Roosevelt Square and, moving along the quay, reaches the Lower Margitsziget Great Meadow, where you can listen to the Prime Minister's speech, said Mr. Zoltán Lomnici.
