The organ-trumpet duo János Bence Samodai and Áron Dóbisz will give three concerts on May 19, 2024 in the Italian capital. The duo can play at important venues in Rome, such as San Paolo fuori le mura, Il Gesu, St. Peter's Basilica and the Liszt Institute in Rome.

All roads lead to Rome, the saying goes. This moment has just come for two excellent young musicians. The professional careers of trumpeter János Bence Samodai and organist Áron Dóbisz have been crossing each other for years, and the duo will show their musical virtuosity in the capital of Italy at Pentecost.

The artists' first stop will be the grandiose San Paolo fuori le mura, Rome's second largest basilica, where they will give a concert from 3 p.m.

Then, as part of the Hungarian Philharmonic Orchestra's Night of Organs program, Il Gesu, one of the most famous baroque churches, will host their performance from 9:30 p.m. As the closing chord of the evening, at 11 p.m., they will celebrate in the Falconieri Palace of the Liszt Institute in Rome with a night concert within the framework of the Night of Italian Museums program.

The following morning, organist Áron Dóbisz performs the closing piece of Pope Francis' Pentecost Mass in St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, which provides a fitting end to the weekend's musical celebration.

The duo then travels to Campobasso, where János Bence Samodai holds a master class at the Lorenzo Perosi College of Music.

János Bence Samodai, instructor at the Béla Bartók Faculty of Arts of the SZTE, said that the repertoire of their concerts, in addition to the virtuoso baroque concertos, also presents contemporary Hungarian pieces in a unique way, including works by Bálin Karosi, István Nagy, and Árpád Balázs. "With this, we want to contribute to the international promotion of Hungarian musical culture."

"It is a huge honor to be able to play at such important venues as San Paolo fuori le mura, Il Gesu, St. Peter's Basilica and the Liszt Institute in Rome. Cooperation with these institutions and our artistic activity greatly broadens our international cultural relations," added organist Áron Dóbisz.
