He didn't get it. Péter Nádas was selected from among the nominees for the literary award by the House of World Cultures board. We could also say that he has to, which is why he is so hostile towards those who profess Christian-conservative principles, but that is not why he was tipped over.
The problem with Nádas for the majority of the committee was that he was white and male. Good, is not it?
At this level of insanity - since we are talking about Germans - we are no longer surprised and could even laugh at the infinitely woke and very primitive decision-makers, but we cannot do this for two reasons. One is that Péter Nádas is still our compatriot, the other is that even if we don't like him, Nádas is indeed a good writer. However, this is a literary award, which means that it should be judged according to one aspect, whether he is a good writer and his work is good or not.
Moreover, in the preliminary evaluation, Nádas's book was called a masterpiece, but what does literary achievement count for a literary prize? What kind of old-fashioned bullshit to voice like that? After all, it is clear that he is white and, moreover, a man. Phew, what immorality! If she would at least identify herself as a dark-skinned woman, things would look better, but the weed didn't even do that.
It reminds me of one of my favorite movies, One Sentence of the Gentile Madonna. It comes from the mouth of Uncle Matuska (László Bánhidi): "We are not in capitalism so that the worker has to work!" It is the same with the literary award: We are not so primitive as to award the literary award based on literary criteria.
I'm watching ATV Start, the introduction of which surprised me somewhat, because it was conceived exactly in my approach. The presenter called what happened an anomaly, but then the writer Gergely Péterfy came and explained the inexplicable. I would like to point out that my lack of education may be the reason why I have never heard of the writer Péterfy, he is certainly a genius of his time, but I cannot confirm or deny this, because I have not read a single line of this genius. However, after learning what you have to say, I think I will keep this beautiful habit of mine in the future.
So Péterfy came and explained that the matter is not so clear-cut, because literary prizes are no longer awarded specifically on the basis of quality works. Another aspect is that they " direct the eyes of the world to certain problems, through certain persons, to certain problems and certain topics".
That's right, it's not even worth arguing about. What kind of thing is it to give literary prizes for literary works? Of course, literary awards are fundamentally and naturally meant to fulfill political and ideological goals, such as the fulfillment of women's equality. In our case - and translated into Hungarian - this means that if there is a woman among the candidates, but a man wrote a better one, the woman must still be awarded. Because she's a woman. But you can't reward someone if he's a man. Logical, right?
At least as much as in the case of the Oscars, since we know that in the future a film cannot receive such recognition if it is not filled with homosexual, lesbian, LGBTQ or other aberrations. Not even if the film itself is perfection. Or that the Eurovision "song festival" can only be won by bearded women or "non-binary" people. Because that's not discrimination, is it?
Speaking of discrimination. The writer mentions positive discrimination at least twenty times, even though, being literate, he should also know that there is no such thing. Discrimination means discrimination, which cannot be positive in any way. Or are there people who enjoy being discriminated against? Does anyone think this is a positive? Oh my God, and he is a József Attila award-winning writer! Bring you the Hungarian language.
Of course, our professor of linguistics did not fail him
to smear the feces in what he said, contrasting the very "forward-looking" foreign "open debates" with the allegedly controlled and propaganda-tainted Hungarian, but that's also good of him. Because there is no control or propaganda surrounding the above-mentioned award.
And finally we get to foiling. It's a big leap in logic, but we won't give up. According to Mr. Író, the requirement of foiling, which "humiliates" sexual minorities, is fraudulent and Putinist, and otherwise, the whole series of measures, which "try to trample literature that does not serve the purpose of government propaganda" is "disgusting, miserable and ridiculous".
"Writer's logic" is a strange thing. Illogical. It is clear to a rational being what the purpose of the measure is. The aim is to ensure that children are not accidentally exposed to content that they cannot yet process. In order not to accidentally flip through documents that contain unwanted content, it is forbidden to peel off the foil from the "volume" before purchasing. At the same time, parents don't have to read the "literary work" with sexual content to know that it is not for their child, but if they themselves are looking for such content, they can already know at a glance that this is what they want to buy. They didn't ban such filth literature, they merely indicate that it is filth. What is disgusting, ridiculous and miserable about this?
What is disgusting, miserable and ridiculous is the explanation of the ATV program and my writer, the defense of the idiotic woke decision. It is truly pathetic and miserable.
