We need faith, old holy European culture and peace, not wild and raw new forces, said Mihály Babits, the State Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office responsible for church and ethnic relations, in Szászvár on Sunday.

Miklós Soltész explained after the mass organized on the occasion of the renovation of the Roman Catholic church of the large village on the northeastern border of Baranya: the main message of Christianity is faith and the teaching of Christ, but at the same time, religion also embraced culture.

He drew attention to the fact that every year on May 26, Christians celebrate the feast of the Holy Trinity, which was declared at the Council of Nicaea in 325, and which has been "the basis of our common Christian community" ever since.

He believed that if people can preserve this creed in the future, they will be able to preserve their communities and churches as well. And it mostly depends on today's Christian youth whether the faith and community of their parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents will survive, because without community and faith, everything will dissolve, he added.

Miklós Soltész said: the government will continue to provide all assistance in the future so that developments similar to the renovation of the church in Százsvár can take place, so that with the help of faith and Christianity, the communities can remain strong and continue to grow stronger.

He referred to: Mihály Babits' opinion expressed before the Second World War, that "faith, old holy European culture and peace are needed, not wild and raw new forces", are still important and relevant today.

And those "who proclaim themselves to be leaders are against the family, Christianity and peace," he said.

During the renovation of the Roman Catholic parish church in Százsvár, built almost a quarter of a millennium ago, which was recently completed with government support, structural strengthening, painting and energy saving works were carried out and the roof was also replaced.

The renovated church was blessed by Pécs county bishop László Felföldi, and a celebratory mass was presented.
