The plane that will transport the Hungarian Olympic team and fans to the Paris Olympics starting on July 24 has been given a unique painting and design.

At Thursday's press event held at Liszt Ferenc Airport, Ádám Schmidt, the state secretary responsible for sports, thanked Wizz Air and the specialists invited by the airline for the work they had done, and referring to the plane, he said, "the sight trumps everything."

The plane, decorated with golden stripes, also has the inscription Team Hungary, the Hungarian coat of arms and the five rings.

"Fifty-seven days remain until the start of the Olympics, we feel its closeness every day, and the sports management, in close cooperation with the Hungarian Olympic Committee, continues to do everything possible to ensure that all conditions are given to our excellent athletes so that in Paris, in that slightly more than two they can give their best performance in a week", stated the state secretary. He added that it is a moment in sports history that the Hungarian team can travel between the Hungarian capital and the venue of the games with such an exclusive, uniquely designed plane.

Zsolt Gyulay, the president of the MOB, emphasized that they had concluded a good agreement with Wizz Air, prior to which they had negotiated with several airlines about the specially painted aircraft.

"For us, the primary consideration this time was the comfortable and quick exit of the athletes. This machine will run every morning and afternoon, which will help our athletes to prepare and concentrate on their tasks. The Olympics are returning to Paris after 100 years and to Europe after many years, this will of course make transportation easier," he emphasized.

The MOB president said that Hungary currently has 161 Olympic quotas. He pointed out, "we read in the press that the tension is increasing, but that's not a problem, because that's what the Olympics are about."

Many people ask how many medals we will win, to which we can say that if all our athletes do their best, we will not disappoint in Paris - said Zsolt Gyulay.

Roland Tischner, the operations director of Wizz Air, revealed that several months of preparatory and construction work preceded the painting of the aircraft, this process alone took a week.

"A team of thirteen people worked on this, and the design consists of 50 small and large elements. It is important to know that there is also an inscription on the bottom of the plane, so every time it flies over Budapest, everyone will be able to see that this is the plane carrying the Hungarian Olympic team," he said.

He added that the plane arrived from the Airbus factory in March, so it is a young and modern vehicle.

"This plane with an elegant but not too ostentatious design will be in service from the weekend, and two more planes will arrive in June, which will make the Wizz Air fleet 17 planes, so our passenger capacity in Hungary will increase to almost seven million," he said.
