The 87-year-old Holy Father upset sensitive people with his new statement.
It was memorable when Pope Francis made a surprising request at the Italian bishops' conference a few days ago: he asked them to be kind enough not to admit more homosexuals to Italian seminaries.
He then jokingly added that in certain seminars there is still too much "crap".
For this reason, the head of the church later apologized, but he was brought up again because of his speech.
He reportedly told a group of young priests that "gossip is a woman's habit" Guardian reported .
The comment was reportedly made during a closed-door meeting with a group of newly ordained priests in Rome on Thursday, according to an article published by Il Silere Non Possum, the Vatican news website, which was later reported by several Italian newspapers and news agencies. The 87-year-old pontiff reportedly advised priests to
don't "gossip" in parishes and churches before he allegedly said: "Gossip is a woman's habit" . He added: "We wear the pants, we have to say things."
Marco Perfetti, the director of Il Silere Non Possum, said the site has audio of the debate, which he claims was recorded by several participants in the event and which was backed up by sources. “We have the tape of the Pope saying that,” he said.
The Pope has publicly spoken favorably of women and encouraged their advancement, including by appointing women to senior positions in the Vatican. In April, he said:
"Let us pray that the dignity and worth of women in all cultures will be recognized and that the discrimination they face in different parts of the world will end".
In the past, however, he has also shaken women with his words. Speaking to nuns in 2013, she said: "Be a mother, not an old maid!" And in 2014 , he called the fact that several women were appointed to the Vatican's international theological commission "the icing on the cake"
