In the shadow of the scandal that cut into the hearts of right-wingers, there were 200,000 more people on the right than in the mirror-smooth election five years ago. Written by Mátyás Kohán.

In the next few days, I will have the opportunity to analyze yesterday's election in detail, so I will only write a few things now.

1. Self-defeating opposition self-deception is taking place in connection with the results of the EP elections.

Fidesz did not achieve the "weakest result in its history", but the most valuable EP victory in its history: during the war, in a bad foreign policy situation, after two painful years of the Hungarian economy, it emerged because of a faulty pardon decision and its lack of explanation, in the shadow of a scandal that cut into the hearts of right-wingers

There were 200,000 more people on the right than in the mirror-smooth election five years ago.

It's not our fault for a minute that the opposition was there. Moreover, winning against opposition is a greater weapon than without opposition.

2. Regarding my personal matter:

the Hungarian voters mercilessly punished the invalid European policy of the Dobrev and Donáth gang and working to leave the country behind.

Those who think it is okay to financially blackmail Hungary for political reasons (after the events in Poland, I will not open a debate about this) won two mandates instead of seven.

TISZA is now facing a choice: either they join Fidesz to fight for the recovery of the money, or if they choose the path of treason, they too will be chased away with a pitchfork by the Hungarian voters.

3. We lost three of the cities with county rights, Miskolc, Salgótarján, Baja returned. The completely pointless infighting of Fidesz in Csepel did not win the mayor's seat, the Castle District, the lost XII. we didn't lose anything outside the district.

Overall, the opposition lost positions in the municipal election, the result is better than in 2019, the right side of certain small towns just needs to be cleaned up.

4. And finally, my only big heartache: Győr behaved as Zugló, Eger and District I did five years ago - following the emotional decision of the voters, a totally incompetent mayor was elected, five years of purgatory follows.

Don't get me wrong: it wasn't Bence Pintér's voters who made a mistake here, it's completely normal for a city with county rights to have 30 percent of the opposition. The mistakes were made by those whose antipathy towards the mayor's personality led them to a totally pointless Borkai vote, especially in the narrow Szentiván, where Pintér won 40 percent by boasting about a battery factory that never existed. This is how the left won in a 60 percent right-wing city. But the people of Győr are not stupid, they will learn from this as well, and the right wing, which won a brilliant victory in the general assembly, will come back stronger than ever. I just wanted to move home more.
