He established the result of the mayoral election at Monday's meeting of the Capital Election Commission (FVB). Gergely Karácsony was elected mayor with 371,466 votes. The decision of the FVB - made with four yes votes and two no votes - is not legally binding and can be appealed within three days, citing a violation of the law.

In the decision of the FVB, it can be read that the board aggregated the results of 1,354 polling stations, according to which there were 1,333,795 voters in the register, of whom 807,056 appeared in Sunday's voting. There were 806,142 stamped ballots in the ballot boxes, of which 24,592 were invalid and 781,550 were valid.

Of the candidates

András Grundtner (Mi Hazánk Mozgalom) received 38,942 votes, Dávid Vitézy (with Dávid Vitézy for Budapest-LMP-Zöldek) 371,142, Gergely Karácsony (Párbeszéd-Zöldek-DK-MSZP) 371,466. Based on this, the FVB established that Gergely Karácsony was elected mayor.

The decision of the FVB is not legally binding, against it - citing a violation of the law -

can be appealed within three days,

which is judged by the National Election Commission. New facts and evidence can be presented in the appeal.
