Nobel Prize-winning researchers Katalin Karikó and Ferenc Krausz received the Hungarian Corvin chain award, which was presented to them by Tamás Sulyok on Tuesday.

With their discoveries, both honorees achieved extraordinary and highly significant scientific breakthroughs. Both of them made a discovery that a number of researchers and scientists can build on in the future, expanding the scientific achievements of humanity. They opened the door to new insights and knowledge, new opportunities in science

At the ceremony held in the Sándor Palace, the head of state highlighted: a lot of work, decades of professional difficulties, resignations and struggles have come to fruition, as both have reached the top of the world, a place that only a few reach. According to the President of the Republic, this gave us, Hungarians, enormous pride, and glory for our country and all Hungarian people, from here and beyond.

In today's world, there are few successful people who can accept and handle the limelight with the same naturalness as Katalin Karikó and Ferenc Krausz. We also thank them for this great human behavior and modesty, not only for their academic success. Because they set an example for all of us

According to the words of the President of the Republic, their exemplary and stimulating effect is not only based on their human behavior and academic success. - They are the ones who know the Hungarian strictness, because they were born into it. But they also know the strength of our common culture, language, specific way of thinking, national values ​​and traditions, he emphasized.

They proved that Kisújszállás or Mór are not that far from the peaks. And with this, they gave faith to all talented Hungarians from Nyírbátor to Kőszeg, and even from Beregszász to Szabadka, that it is worth fighting, enduring and working - said Tamás Sulyok, and then he went on to say that Katalin Karikó and Ferenc Krausz are not only excellent scientists and great people, but also true Hungarians. and therefore it is both worthy and necessary that their country bestow upon them one of the greatest honors.

In her speech, Katalin Karikó promised to use all her knowledge in order to help the scientific work of Hungarian universities and encourage future researchers to stay on track. And Ferenc Krausz thanked him for the honor and love, which is hard to put into words, and highlighted the decisive role of his teachers in starting his career as a researcher.
