The RMDSZ welcomes the fact that Fidesz will not join the ECR faction because of the anti-Hungarian Romanian party

The Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (RMDSZ) considers the decision of the European Parliament group of European Conservatives and Reformers (ECR) to be regrettable, according to which they admitted the MEP representatives of the anti-Hungarian Association for the Unification of Romanians (AUR) to their faction, Csoma Botond, spokesperson of the RMDSZ, told Magyar Nemzet.

The Hungarian member of parliament from Transylvania also called the decision wrong because, in his opinion, the Georgia Melonis know the party led by George Simion.

"I don't know what aspects were taken into account when they made this decision, but they made a wrong decision. As representatives of the Transylvanian Hungarian community, we cannot agree with this decision," said Csoma Botond.

Regarding Fidesz's decision that the party's MEPs are not willing to join a faction that also includes AUR politicians, the spokesperson reminded that

RMDSZ is a strategic partner of Fidesz.

We welcome this decision, as the AUR is not only an adversary but also an enemy for the Transylvanian Hungarians, the Simions proved this during the campaign, said Csoma Botond.
