According to Marco Rossi, the referee on the track on Wednesday was the worst because he blew the whistle with a double standard.

According to Dominik Szoboszlai, the captain of the Hungarian national football team, "unfortunately, we got back to the point where we have to do math" at the European Championship in Germany, after the team lost 2-0 to the hosts in Stuttgart on Wednesday night in the second round of the group stage.

"I'm proud of the team, we gave everything, we ran our hearts out, but unfortunately even that wasn't enough. At the same time, if we look at things realistically, this is the step that we still have to jump, because the Germans are that much better. They have excellent players individually, but they have formed a great team, I think you could see that from the outside as well," said the Liverpool legend.

The 23-year-old midfielder added that the national team was compact, defended when needed, and everyone was behind the ball, which, as he said, was the most important thing in this match.

The first goal shouldn't have been scored because they fouled Willi, but we can't change that, he said.

After an opinionated goal, we lost in a big battle against the European Championship host

"Unfortunately, we returned to the period when, as Hungarians, we had to do math, which, thank God, we didn't have to in the qualifiers. Our destiny is not only in our own hands, but we will need everyone on Sunday, all the players and fans, because it is also a pleasure to be here. Let's take things positively, even if it didn't go the way we wanted," said Szoboszlai.

Ádám Nagy pointed out that only the final result matters at a European Championship, and they are angry and disappointed because of this.

"If you look at the picture of the game, it was a completely different match than against Switzerland. I think if we could have done that there, then one point would have been guaranteed, so we can be angry with ourselves," said the midfielder of the Italian second division Spezia. He added that in the clash against the Germans, they returned to their previous strength, that they packed in with ten outfield players and did not give the opponent any space.

"Overall, I feel that we were able to defend very well, which allowed us to get dangerously in front of their goal two or three times in case of possession. Their first goal largely determined the outcome of the match, but even after that we had three or four opportunities from which we could have evened the score", he said, and emphasized that they must take the basis of this game with them to the match against the Scots on Sunday, in which at the same time they need to be more proactive.

Bolla Bendegúz also spoke about the situation before the first goal of the Germans, during which, according to him, they fouled Willi Orbán in front of the Hungarian goal.

It was a questionable case, we looked it over after the game, but we can't do anything about it because the referee didn't see it as a foul. We knew that we would have less of the ball, but what we planned worked, we implemented what we discussed before the match, but we were unlucky, said the winger.

According to national team captain Marco Rossi, the Hungarian national football team has already been eliminated with one leg after losing 2-0 to the Germans, but it will do everything to win in the last group game on Sunday, because it does not deserve to leave without a point.

"We worked on tactics and mentality, to which the players responded well. We can lose to Germany because they have world-class football players, but the important thing is that we played well. We limited their crosses and tried to push them to the wings. Our central defenders were late several times, but that's part of the game. We tried to attack on the wings, we created a lot of opportunities, but today we were unlucky," said the Italian manager about the improving game despite another setback.

Rossi believed that the judge on the track was the worst because he blew the whistle with a double standard. He also blamed the Dutchman Danny Makkelie, who directed the 2020 Europa League final, for pushing Willi Orbán during the first German goal. He also found it strange that the video referee did not signal.

"Germany didn't need the referee's help, they would have won without it. We'll see, for example, if the judges blow like this against the French"

- said the 59-year-old expert, who believes that it is no coincidence that these big teams play better football, since, for example, the value of the German squad is six times that of the Hungarian one.

Regarding the continuation of the European Championship, Rossi stated that with two defeats, they are already out of the European Championship, but mathematically they have not yet been eliminated. In the last round, they will do everything they can to avoid being left without a point, because even though the first half against Switzerland was weak, he does not believe that his team's performance deserves a farewell without a point.
