All four competitors of the final race can participate in the 17th National Race in Szilvásvárad.

Csaba Tamás, representing György Sepsiszent, won the Székely Vágta, the 13th qualifying heat of the National Vágta held in Székelyföld, with his Rover Gidran 34 horse named Rozi, on Sunday at the Oriáspince-tetó belonging to Maksa in Třászék.

This year's Székely Vágta, which was fortunately held in the middle of the second-degree (orange) heat warning, in scorching heat, and with the constant threat of thunderstorms reaching the region on Sunday, the horses and riders of seven of the ten entrants were finally able to start.

During the preliminaries on Saturday, the representatives of all three Székelyföld counties - Maros, Hargita and Kovászna - made it to the finals on Sunday.

In the final race, which had to be repeated due to the too early break of the later winning horse (Rover Gidran), Csaba Tamás, who had started from last place for this reason, broke into the lead in the first lap and won confidently, ahead of the second-placed rider from Nýárádsereda, the Bartha Ferencet competing on the back of Tip-Top. Nagyernye's rider, Zsolt György Mátyás finished in third place with his horse Lázár, and Etéd's rider, Géza Sándor Kelemen, in the saddle of Szigetszépe Korax Forrás, finished in fourth place.

Bianka Bakó, who presides over the Székely Vágta competition jury, said: all four competitors of the final race in Székelyföld can participate in the 17th National Vágta in Szilvásvárad.

Similarly, the best of Székelyföld's Kishuszárvágta, organized for children, can also participate in the age-group competitions of the National Vágta.

On the Óriáspince-tetó, the representative of Farkaslaka won in both age groups this year: Anna Ágoston won in the 10-13 age group (out of seven competitors) riding Csodaszép, while Magor Demény won in the 14-17 age group (out of three competitors) with her horse Felicia Katy. The second-placed Nóra Kilyén from the latter age group can also participate in the canter in Szilvásvárad with her horse Picike, representing Harasztkerék.

The Székelyföld organizers organized the Góbé Race again this year for horses and their riders of unverified origin. English thoroughbreds cannot be entered into the competition at the National Vágtára. And the fact that a horse is not an English thoroughbred can only be proven with documents relating to its origin. This year, 17 settlements entered their horses and riders for the Góbé race.

Vivien Jácinta Csók, who also received a special award as the most successful female competitor, won the final on Sunday with her horse Alice Princess, representing Csíkszenttamás. Csaba Tamás representing Kilyén finished second, riding Istafan Penge, Zágon's rider Roland Sebestyén finished third with his horse Vihar, and Kecset's representative Eszter Márton finished fourth with Konyaszép's horse Havas John.

The 17th National Vágta will be organized between October 5 and 6 at the Lipica Equestrian Center in Szilvásvárad.
