They saw the tracks of a bear and a deer near Nemti. The mother bear is always near the trees, which is even more dangerous.

A bear can roam around Nemti, near the inhabited area. The Hungarian National Bear Watch Facebook page shared the information of the Bánya-tető community site, according to which fresh bear and bear tracks were found in several places in the middle section of the Morgó pit.

In the post, the attention of those involved was drawn to the fact that the bear is even more dangerous, as it protects its cubs and stays close to them in any case.

Istvánné Széll, the mayor of Nemti, revealed that the municipality has not received any official inquiries in this regard.

Bears are appearing more and more often in our narrow country, so it is worth repeating what the fort walkers can do if they meet the large carnivore.

If you encounter a bear, in order to avoid conflicts, the experts of the Bükki National Park advise the following:

– If you are walking in the forest and you think that it may appear at any time, make noise around you (e.g. whistling). In the case of a larger company, the risk of attack is lower.

– If we do encounter a bear, but the animal did not notice us, we should quietly leave the scene immediately, if possible inconspicuously. If the bear notices, do not try to distract it with stones or anything else. In the event of a car encounter, it is forbidden to leave the vehicle!

- Don't feed the bear, don't take close-up photos of the bear!

– If the bear tries to approach, leave the food you brought with you in one place and slowly, keeping an eye on the animal, move away from the area.

- Don't look the bear in the eyes, this can cause aggression, but at the same time, don't turn your back on the animal. If the bear stands on two legs, keep calm, this is not a sign of an attack, it may just be scanning the area.

– If the bear ventures close, do not provoke it or make sudden movements.

- A dangerous situation can also arise when walking a dog or hunting with a dog, if the dog fleeing from the bear will run back to the owner - even accompanied by the animal following it.

- Food with a strong smell should not be stored in the tent. At night, it is advisable to put it away from the tent, on a tree, in a place inaccessible to the bear.
