Emotions are running high in Momentum after the ugly failure of the European Parliament elections. Tamás Soproni, Miklós Hajnal and Anna Orosz are also leaving the management of Momentum. The party will hold a renovation on Sunday, which will present serious challenges to the new party president. Convicted criminal András Fekete-Győr can become president, and Katalin Cseh, involved in EU financial abuse, can also become a member of the board.
Márton Tompos , the former vice-president and deputy leader of the parliamentary faction, and András Fekete-Győr , ex-president and former faction leader, who failed miserably before, are running for the post of president Népszava , there is a civil war atmosphere within the party.
The main cause of the tensions is Fekete-Győr's attempt to return, which has been intensified by his aggressive campaign.
This divided the leading politicians of the party and the supporters of the Tompos presidency.
Incidentally, Katalin Cseh, who failed miserably, lined up next to Győr Fekete. He became famous for the fact that a group of companies linked to his family is currently being investigated for the illegal use of EU funds.
Tamás Soproni, Miklós Hajnal and Anna Orosz will definitely leave the party leadership on Sunday, while Dávid Bedő and Katalin Cseh will run for their positions again.
Márton Tompos said that he would also like to work with those who are leaving, but he considers it necessary to renew his blood. He emphasized that there are talented new people in the party, such as Milán Ruzsics in Zala, Viktória Vajda in Gödö or Bence Szabó in Debrecen.
Both presidential candidates emphasized that they do not wish to exchange public messages before the election. At the same time, Tompos did not give a clear answer as to whether he would accept Fekete-Győr's return, saying "first you have to see who wins, with what team and plan".
