An unusual hit has become the center of attention in America: country singer Rachel Holt is at the top of the charts with her pro-life song "I could have", which is a lyrical confession of an unborn child.
It was just two years ago that the US Supreme Court overturned the ruling known as Roe v. Wade, which interpreted access to abortion as a kind of constitutional right. Currently, according to the law, individual states can decide on their own authority to allow abortion in the USA.
Perhaps it is no coincidence that Rachel Holt's pro-life song burst into the public consciousness just now, on the anniversary, to break into the top of the country charts: "I could have", which was written by hitmaker Chris Wallin for the 18-year-old country singer, almost immediately hit the top and is currently the is in fifth place among the most listened to country songs on the iTunes list - vasarnap.hu on Lifenews.com .
The lyrical song is the confession of an unborn child that cannot be heard without tears, it begins:
"Some people don't believe that I'm a living soul, they just think it's a bad decision that has to go, but if my mother had seen my face, maybe she would have kept me anyway (...) I just wanted one chance: to learn to love, laugh and dance , but I left before I arrived (…) I would have had beautiful curls, yes, I would be a girl, because I am more than a one-night stand, or some kind of burden, and there will never be another person like me on earth..."
The triumph of the song surprised the author himself, Wallin, who, by his own admission, did not think that his composition would be such a big success. He simply wrote it because he wanted to convey the message it carried.
After that, he only met the young singer, who agreed to perform the piece. According to Rachel Holt, girls her age listen to a lot of songs that have nothing to do with real life. But this song is about life, and that's what I want to do, the singer told Wallis.
