Viktor Orbán will be present at the event again this year, he will give a speech on July 27.

The Hungarian Youth Council and the 0 Pro Minoritate Foundation are organizing the 33rd Bálványos Summer Free University and Student Camp, known as Tusványos, at Tusnádfürdő in Transylvania, between July 23rd and 28th, with the motto On a better track.

Krisztina Sándor, political program officer of Tusványos, executive president of the Transylvanian Hungarian National Council, said: this year's motto is a "strengthening marker" in a physical and social-political sense, and points to a better situation for Hungarians in the Carpathian Basin than before.

If we look around the neighborhood, Europe, the world, we can say in 2024 that we are now on a better path, he said.

The motto also refers to the right-wing values of the participants of Tusványos and the better infrastructure of camping, but with its positive tone, they also want to send a message to young people that it is worth staying at home, he added.

He said: this year's panel discussions are grouped around four main topics: current political processes; the issue of war and peace; the economic situation; and as a separate topic, green topics such as climate change, energy efficiency, green transition are given more emphasis.

Among the political topics, the June and autumn elections and the Hungarian EU presidency stand out. The national political round table will also be held with the participation of the presidents of Hungarian organizations in the Carpathian Basin.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén, several ministers and state secretaries of the Hungarian government will also be among the invited guests this year.

Despite the intentions and efforts of the organizers, there will be no politicians from the mainstream of Romanian politics due to the election year, Krisztina Sándor said at a press conference in Csíkszereda on Thursday.

As he put it, members of the Romanian government "do not risk" participating in Tusványos in an election year and possibly losing the sympathy of their voters. On the other hand, the Romanian speakers who have been returning to the event for years will come again this year.

Krisztina Sándor said: instead of Hungarian-Romanian dialogue, Hungarian-Hungarian dialogue has become more prominent in Tusványos.

Participation in Viktor Orbán's speech in Tusványosi is subject to registration again this year, Székelyhon learned. This is the second year the organizers have resorted to this method, which is how they prevent groups that might want to disrupt the speech from showing up at the venue.

As is known, last year Mihai Tîrnoveanu, the leader of the extremist organization Calea Neamului (The Way of the People), announced on his Facebook page that he and the organization Frăția Ortodoxă (Orthodox Brotherhood) would jointly boycott the speech of the Hungarian Prime Minister. However, with the registration, it was possible to keep the few dozen heat buzzers outside the entrance of the camp.

Popa Ilona, the main organizer of the Transylvanian Tusványos, said: the 33rd Tusványos is organized together with 76 partner organizations, there will be around 500 programs in 34 event tents with the participation of around a thousand speakers.

On the main stage in the evening, Blahalouisiana, Bagossy Brothers Company, Magashegyi Underground, Honeybeast, Balázs Szabó's Band, Ákos, Nagy Feró and Beatrice, Hungarian Rock legends (József Kalapács, Rudán Joe and Miklós Varga), Kowalsky and Vega and 4S Street is playing a concert.

The various event tents maintain their profile, in addition to public, national political, economic and agricultural topics, youth, cultural, literary and religious topics are also on the agenda.

In Csůr, folk music and folk culture take center stage under the leadership of the host, Pál István Szalonna. The Hungarian National Dance Ensemble will perform Kalotaszeg, in addition to a joint concert by musicians from Transcarpathia and Kalotaszeg and the introduction of the csángós, there will also be singing and flute lessons and storytelling.

In the Krúdy yard, gastronomy and wine will play a major role, and children's activities will also be held at several locations.

Several famous Hungarian athletes and Olympians will be present at the Jenő Buzánszky Sports Terrace, Gyula Rákosi, a 41-time international soccer player, Kokó István Kovács, an Olympic, world and European champion boxer, Imre Bujdosó, an Olympic and world champion swordsman, Dzuzdsák Balázs, a Hungarian national football player, Gábor Kubatov, László Bölöni . This year, for the first time, there will also be a fan zone for Sepsi OSK fans.

As a novelty, the situation of the press will also be on the table as a topic of round table discussions, and Gaga Radio's Duma dub will also be present.

Réka Horváth, the president of the Hungarian Youth Council, said about the MIT tent: during the day there will be performances and entertainment programs, and audience meetings for big bands are also held here, and in the evening up-and-coming bands from Transylvania will give concerts.

The gates will open on Tuesday, July 23, at 8:00 a.m., and the entry control system will not change, with the difference that from 4:00 p.m. the mandatory daily or weekly ticket can also be purchased online on the website.

The novelty of the 33rd Tusványos is the repohar system, which must be redeemed.
