Thomas Matthew Crooks featured in BlackRock's 2022 ad.
CBS News reported . The ad was produced in 2022 and filmed at Bethel Park High School, where Crooks was a student at the time.
BlackRock created the ad as part of a series targeting retiring teachers. In one classroom, led by a real teacher and featuring real students, Crooks appeared. BlackRock told CBS News that Crooks was not paid or employed as an actor.

BlackRock said in a statement to CBS News. "All video footage is being made available to the relevant authorities and the video has been removed from circulation out of respect for the victims." The world's largest asset manager, BlackRock, also condemned the violence at the Trump rally.
“The assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump is horrific. We are grateful that Trump was not seriously injured and our thoughts are with all the innocent bystanders and victims, especially the person who lost his life," BlackRock said in a statement. The company added that it "condemns any form of political violence."
The Secret Service shot and killed Crooks, whose motive for the shooting is still unknown. The FBI is investigating the incident as an attempted murder.
