Deliveries of the parcels have already encountered rolling pins, walking sticks, wallpaper cutters and rubber bullets this year.

Already this year, postmen have been attacked with rolling pins, walking sticks, hammers, wallpaper cutters, beer bottles and rubber bullets - Magyar Posta drew attention in its latest short film, adding: it is also not uncommon for deliverymen to be verbally abused, which hinders the delivery of parcels, postal services are undisturbed fulfillment.

It is in the common interest of all of us that postmen (whether they patrol the roads or sit at counters) receive the respect and moral and physical protection they deserve, the Posta said.

Is it justified for a delivery person or a postal clerk to work in protective equipment, head protection, dental protection or protective vest? the question arises. The short film points out that postal workers have extra protection even without protective equipment.

Postal workers who are in contact with customers are all persons who perform a public duty and play an important role in the functioning of society, and therefore it is worth knowing that in the event of an attack or violence against them, they are entitled to enhanced criminal protection, i.e. the perpetrator can expect a stricter punishment.

At the same time, Magyar Posta also pays special attention to ensuring that colleagues know what they can do in a more delicate situation, who they can turn to or how to protect themselves, which is why they organize an emergency call and safety training for all colleagues.

In addition to the protection of the law, postmen can also count on the emergency call function available on the PDA devices used during delivery, with which (with the help of the device's GPS positioning system) the police and, if necessary, the ambulance can be directed to the exact address immediately in the event of an attack, illness or accident.

However, technical solutions are available not only in the field, but also at post offices, which enable quick assistance and official intervention.

- In cooperation with the county police headquarters, we try to equip our employees to properly handle emergency situations and reduce the risk of becoming a victim with regular on-site, interactive education for the purpose of crime prevention, as well as internal training. Colleagues report immediately, for example, if they experience suspicious phenomena or extraordinary events, and even provide our security service with the type, color, registration number of the suspicious vehicle or the description of the persons - stated the Magyar Posta, which also explained that it paid special attention to the safety of the delivery people. policemen and civil guards also translate during patrols, so those who commit crimes against postmen are quickly caught by the police.
