So far, the Hungarian Prime Minister has taken all the planned steps with his peace mission.

The essence of our concept, which differs from the official concept, is that the European Union should not copy the foreign policy of the American democrats, but in the spirit of a strategic autonomy (and we are constantly promoting this here) it should have its own European approach, stated the European Political Community (EPC). Prime Minister Viktor Orbán arriving for his fourth summit on Thursday at Blenheim Castle near Oxford, England.

When asked how the Hungarian peace mission is doing, Viktor Orbán said: "We are doing well, we are making progress, it is not easy when there are headwinds, but for now we have taken all the steps as planned".

He added some suggestions made for a European approach. "I'm moving slowly, but it's being digested. I hope that I can get ahead with the next steps," he assessed.

Speaking about his negotiations for peace in Ukraine in recent days, he stated that he represented his own point of view in them, and he said about Donald Trump that "he is a man of peace, and what we need is peace."

Regarding the political situation in Georgia, he emphasized that Georgia is a wonderful country that is doing very well, and the government there is trying to maintain the country's independence and sovereignty in very difficult circumstances.

Unfortunately, many European leaders do not understand how difficult it is for a country like Georgia to maintain its sovereignty in all directions, he noted, adding that he himself appreciates this.

When asked what his message was to Ukraine, the Hungarian Prime Minister said: "I am with you."

He believed that there is still a long way to go for peace, because there are many pro-war countries that believe that they can destroy the Russians with military force.

However, Viktor Orbán emphasized: he does not think so, because he knows the Russians, the Ukrainians and the whole context, so in his opinion there is no solution to this conflict on the battlefield.

Every day we lose thousands of innocent people, even though human life is the most expensive, so we have to assert this - he emphasized, adding: the solution cannot be found on the battlefield, but at the negotiating table.

47 European heads of state or government were invited to the EPC summit on Thursday. The leaders are scheduled to discuss support for Ukraine, as well as common challenges such as energy and connectivity, security and democracy, and migration.

The European Political Community is an intergovernmental forum for political and strategic discussions on the future of Europe, which was established in 2022 at the initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron.
