The National Film Institute decided to support the production of six works being prepared for television or streaming services. A documentary film is being made about Leslie Mandoki, and a portrait film about Paralympic champion Illés Fanni.

The National Film Institute (NFI) has decided to support the production of six works for television and streaming services, Kecskemétfilm's Gypsy Tales series continues, a portrait film is being made about Paralympian Illés Fanni and a documentary about musician Leslie Mandoki. Since January 2020, the NFI has been providing support for works being prepared for television and streaming presentation through tenders. This time, the final committee voted to support the production of four documentaries and two animated series, the NFI announced on Friday.

Illés Fanni is a world and two-time European champion swimmer, Tokyo Paralympic champion, competitor of the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games. Director Csaba Hernáth and Anita Korn's upcoming work titled Illés Fanni's portrait film explores the themes of motherhood, endurance, faith and acceptance through the inspiring life story of the exceptional athlete with the support of 20 million forints from the NFI.

About the work of László Mándoki 

Tamás Császár directs a documentary film entitled Memory of our future: Peace, with the support of HUF 240 million from the NFI. The work shows how the musician who later became known as Leslie Mandoki and his two friends defect from Hungary.

Leslie Mándoki, who was awarded this year's Kossuth Prize, previously announced on her social media page that she will once again give a free concert as part of the state founding ceremony. Leslie Mandoki's Soulmates will perform in front of the Basilica on August 18.

Directed by Attila Mészáros, a documentary film titled Hungarian National Archives presents the world of the institution that preserves our nation's written heritage and the professionals working in it, with the support of HUF 25 million from the NFI. The film introduces you to the most modern technologies used in the institution and the stories related to the documents.

The Hungary Helps program of the Hungarian government helps hundreds of thousands of people in trouble in 40 countries around the world to plan a new life in their own country. The second season of the Hungary helps series presenting the work of the program presents the African and Middle Eastern missions through personal stories with the support of HUF 26.6 million from the NFI.

The latest animated series by Zoltán Miklósy and Attila Herkó gives a glimpse into the lives of strange but funny creatures of a distant planet. The entertaining episodes with special visuals show the everyday life of the Rozogaráz stable with a subsidy of HUF 10.5 million.

Produced by Kecskemétfilm, the unique series Cigánymesék, produced with 3D technology, tells the story of the origin of gypsies, their humor, the role of the family, love, and migration. The series is being expanded with two more episodes, which deal with the stories A lükasztó eredete and Boldímó's violin, with a HUF 30 million grant from the Film Institute.

A documentary is being made about the singer Ákos Kovács and the history of the Dunaszerdahely sports club, DAC, with the support of the National Film Institute. The documentary Ember maradj: Ákos is supported by the film institute with HUF 228.515 million.
