Belgium will play its "home" match against Israel on September 6 in Budapest, after several Belgian cities announced that they could not guarantee the security of the Israeli team.

According to some commentators, it is ironic that Hungary was chosen after the country was criticized by the EU for not opening its borders to Muslim migrants. Hungary now appears to be the only safe venue in Europe to host a soccer match against Israel, while Belgium has effectively admitted that it has no influence over events on its territory.
