Although he kept saying on every forum that he would not back down from the presidential candidacy, Joe Biden was finally hit by that legendary tram. Four years ago, he was no more reliable than he is now, he was not a stable and witty politician, all he knew was that he was not Donald Trump.
Four years later, he can show exactly that much, but today it has become clear that he is unfit for his position, a very weak and old person who is no longer able to carry a country, or even a party, on his shoulders.
It is almost certain that he did not decide to withdraw either, but rather those who carried out the democratic governance of the past four years instead.
Biden was never a particularly autonomous figure, rather he was a puppet who was the opposite, the antithesis of Trump.
Already four years ago, the Democrats built their election strategy on trying to mask Donald Trump as the devil from whom the country must be freed. It was successful then, the fragile anti-Trump got four years, which he made miserable in front of the cameras with a series of blunders and embarrassing hesitation, but this performance is not very sweet in 2024.
Because even today, the democratic press claims that Trump is the devil himself, but this is much less credible, mainly because the alternative is more pathetic than strong.
Trump is very strong, and not only because he was able to return after the failed 2020 election, but also because everyone could be convinced of this in the moments after the assassination attempt.
No communication specialist can prepare a politician for what to do when he is millimeters away from death. Trump showed personal courage and toughness there, exactly what an American president should be.
And the Democrats should, in principle, build a new candidate now, along with the fact that with Biden's departure, it was a mistake to ask the old president to shake things up. The reigning president is the champion to be beaten by the challenger, he sits in the White House, everything is under his control.
Biden, on the other hand, seems like a master of nothing, barely finding the Oval Office and more at home in Delaware than in the nation's capital.
The candidate who steps in instead can still say about himself that he is not Donald Trump, but also that he was appointed at breakneck speed and as a necessary solution.
In other words, he can even win, since masses of people in America will be surprised that the name of the current president will not be on the ballot. Since the task of the vice presidents is pretty much exhausted by jumping in to replace the president in case of any trouble, Kamala Harris has been doing nothing as a loyal follower for four years.
However, it cannot be said that it is particularly well-known and popular, at least half of the Democrats do not support it, no matter how much they want to shout about it in the press.
American voters are not just New York intellectuals, the woke movement has divided society in America as much as in Europe, and Kamala Harrison has a lot to catch.
It is not entirely certain that the financial support that is so important there will not necessarily be so generous in the case of Harris's candidacy. Financiers are investors who invest their money in politics and trust that the sum at risk will be returned with interest in the future.
At the moment, however, it seems that Trump's success pays more than the Democrats'.
Of course, they may reach back into the past and say that the perfect candidate is the great Hillary Clinton herself, who always lost in every situation. You have to know how to lose.
