Ukraine's president has launched a "large-scale diplomatic offensive" to end the war.
Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he wants to see Russia "at the table" at the next peace summit, the French AFP reported. In an interview with French journalists in a school gymnasium in the city of Rivne on Tuesday, the Ukrainian president stated that Russia should be represented at the second peace summit scheduled for November, after it was not on the list of invitees at the first summit convened in Switzerland last month.
The whole world, including Ukraine, wants Russia to join world leaders at the planned second peace summit to end the war in Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky told French media.
With Russian forces gaining momentum at the front and Allied aid dwindling or in doubt,
Zelensky launched a "large-scale diplomatic offensive" to end the war, which has been raging for three years.
In June, leaders and senior officials from dozens of countries gathered in the Swiss resort of Burgenstock for the first summit, which Russia called a waste of time and China avoided.
Although the Kremlin was not invited to the first meeting, now is the time for Moscow to take a seat at the table, the politician said.
"The majority of the world today says that Russia must be represented at the second summit, otherwise we will not achieve meaningful results," Zelensky added.
