"The symbol of perseverance, rebirth and all-conquering unity!" - said Kelemen Hunor on his personal Facebook page after the Church of Unity rising from the Bözödújfalus lake was inaugurated on Saturday.

The national president of the RMDSZ reminded on the community page of the association that the village was flooded during the Ceaușescu dictatorship, but the tower of the Catholic church, which stood out of the water for years, became a symbol of the destruction of the village. It collapsed in the summer of 2014, but thanks to cross-border cooperation, it was rebuilt with public donations.

"It's been 30 years since Bözödújfalu was permanently submerged by the will of the destructive communist power, and 10 years ago the church tower that stood out for two decades collapsed. Many people are to thank for the Church of Unity inaugurated today, but primarily the community, which did not let its past be erased. Bözödújfalu is therefore not only a symbol of senseless, premeditated destruction, but also a symbol of endurance, rebirth and all-conquering unity"

- said Kelemen Hunor.
