The brother of former Ferencváros footballer Zoltán Ebedli, the former defender, was 71 years old.

The Ferencváros Torna Club announced the sad news on Wednesday morning that Ferenc Ebedli, the club's former player, died at the age of 71.

The former full-back - he played mostly as a man-catcher and linebacker - was born in Budapest in 1952, joined Ferencváros at the age of 12, where he went through the age groups, but only played in one match in the first team.

He played that match in the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1975 in the second leg against Cardiff City, which the green and whites won 4–1. FTC eventually reached the final in the series, but lost 3-0 against Dynamo Kyiv in the final.

As a Volán player, Ferenc Ebedli played three seasons in the NB I, after his retirement he worked as a technical manager and coach at the club, and later managed Dunaferr and Tatabánya.

I can tell you honestly, his death came unexpectedly, unfortunately the disease took him, he would have been 72 years old on September 22, said his brother, Zoltán Ebedli. – He had a nice career, we will all miss him.
