The former Free Democrat has left Hungary and is settling abroad, and is also looking for a tenant.
Gábor Demszky, the former mayor of Budapest, the emblematic figure of the SZDSZ, announced on his Facebook page that he is leaving Hungary and moving to his house on the Croatian coast, in Istria.
"Now I'm moving here, to a better world. "So that I don't see the government's looting and decline of the capital, the deselected decay of society, the agony of the intellectuals bought with cheap money and kept on a short leash," he explained in his post, and then announced that he will write a book that no one will censor.
The seriousness of his intention is indicated by the fact that he also wrote that he will rent out everything that can be rented out, including the apartment on Hollán Ernő Street from October.
Responding to a comment under his post, he then explained: “We cannot face the fact that we have been blind and astray for over a decade. That is why we fear and shudderingly reject that which inspires hope (…).
"We also have our own little Napoleon, a little more pot-bellied, a little more pudgy, who learned a lot from his predecessor, who not only contributed to the defeat of '56, but also ordered the retaliation," said Gábor Demszky.
