The left-wing mayor of Budapest has previously stated several times that he envisions a DK-MSZP-Párbeszéd-Tisza Párt-Kutyápár cooperation from October.
After Gergely Karácsony and Dávid Vitézy, Péter Magyar met with Gergely Kovács, the president of the Hungarian Two-Tailed Dog Party, on Sunday evening.
"Last night, after Gergely Karácsony and Dávid Vitézy, I also discussed the future operation of Budapest with Gergely Kovács, the president of the Hungarian Two-Tailed Dog Party. Mr. President and I agreed on the importance of eternal life and free beer," writes Péter Magyar on his Facebook page. He added that the negotiations with the leaders of the list will continue during the summer.
As is known, Péter Magyar started negotiations with the leaders of the Metropolitan Assembly that will be established in October. The group leader of the governing parties, Alexandra Szentkirályi, rejected the consultation with the politician,
the Fidesz-KDNP faction does not cooperate and does not coordinate with those who support the candidate Ferenc Gyurcsány in any way.
The Fidesz politician stated that Gyurcsány and Karácsony bankrupted Budapest, so they do not deserve another chance.
On the other hand, on the left, they much preferred to see Péter Magyar, who started negotiations with Gergely Karácsony on cooperation on the first of August.
The politician who won the mayoral election has previously stated several times that he envisions a DK-MSZP-Párbeszéd-Tisza Party-Kutyapár cooperation from October.
This line-up would mean that the newly formed Tisza Party would also be classified among the parties of the left alliance in terms of its practical politics.
After the meeting with Gergely Karácsony, Péter Magyar also held talks with the LMP's failed mayor candidate, Dávid Vitézy, on August 9. After the negotiations, both politicians stated succinctly that they consider the operation of Budapest to be of particular importance, and that they would place specialists in the management of companies in the capital.
According to press information, at the same time, much more serious topics were also on the agenda at the negotiations. This is also the case with the mayor's cabinet.
According to the information obtained by the Magyar Nemzet, the leader of the Tisza Party would include Dávid Vitézy in the left-wing cooperation, and if nothing else,
he would offer the former secretary of state for transport, whom he also called a Fidesz hack, with the title of deputy mayor.
In other words, based on the information made public so far, Péter Magyar and Gergely Karácsony are working on creating an anti-Fidesz, left-wing grand coalition, thus preparing for the 2026 elections.
According to the DK-MSZP-Párbeszéd deal, the three parties will run together with one candidate for prime minister in that vote, so Karácsony is clearly supported by Gyurcsány, who, according to currently known information, is still the president of the DK in Budapest, in addition to being the party chairman. .
The plan of the left-wing grand coalition is also supported by the statement made by the former mayor Gábor Demszky a few days ago, who otherwise claimed that the victory of Gergely Karácsony is actually a defeat, and that if Péter Magyar does not cooperate with him, both will fail.
In addition, Demszky emphasized that, in his opinion, the international political community was eager to support Magyar, so there is no other choice but to join hands with him in order to replace Fidesz.
