The Ukrainian Ministry of Education emphasized that they want to develop students' national self-awareness and vital skills in this way.

A new recommended subject has been added to the Ukrainian curricula: the subject "Defense of Ukraine" can now be taught in the 10th and 11th grades. As part of the lessons, students can learn to shoot a gun and operate a drone, the Ukrainian Ministry of Education announced on its Facebook page.

It was emphasized that a new subject,

develops students' national self-awareness and vital skills.

Students in the 10th grade will be able to learn about national security, military management, and weapons and equipment, while in the 11th grade, the development of military technology, information warfare, and the protection of the civilian population will be included in the curriculum, the ministry explained.

They emphasized that for students

one class per month will be held in military facilities equipped with modern equipment,

here they can familiarize themselves with firearms and drone simulators under the guidance of trained instructors.
