The Russian Prosecutor General's Office has declared the Clooney Foundation for Justice (CFJ), founded by Hollywood film actor George Clooney, which fights for the rights of the LGBTQ community, among other things, as an undesirable organization.
According to a report by the Ukrainian newspaper The Kyiv Independent, the foundation is "working to discredit Russia on a Hollywood scale."
According to the reasoning of the Moscow Prosecutor General's Office
Clooney's foundation "actively supports expatriate pseudo-patriots and members of banned extremist groups and terrorist organizations"
According to the CFJ's website, the foundation "provides free legal assistance to victims of abuse of power. The aim of each of our programs is to fight against systemic injustice committed against vulnerable communities - journalists, women and girls, defenders of democracy, LGBTQ+ individuals and minorities - reported the news portal of the German N-Tv television.
