The tracks and trains of the MÁV are not the way they are because of the lack of Vitézy or my ministry, but because of the omissions of the past 30 years. In addition, most of the developments have taken place in the last 15 years. A lot, but not enough. We need more, much more. That's why I announced the 5-point transport action plan," reads the minister's post.
The Keleti railway station is operating again, train traffic is being restored on more and more lines, János Lázár announced on Monday. The Minister of Construction and Transport appeared in public for the first time since an Intercity train derailed on the entrance section of Keleti Railway Station on Sunday evening, paralyzing train traffic. In his Facebook post, János Lázár states:
"According to the latest information from MÁV colleagues, rail traffic has been fully restored in the direction of the eastern part of the country and towards Pécs and Vienna. The extraordinary switch inspections covering the entire country are still ongoing on the sections of the track leading to the west, so scheduled traffic is expected to resume on those sections by noon today."
In his post, the minister thanked the passengers for their patience and the railway workers' work, and then went after Dávid Vitézy, the former candidate for mayor, who named János Lázár as the person responsible for the accident. According to the minister
Hungary's most active expert on Facebook, who could have achieved success with the political support of Fidesz throughout his life, is inciting against the MÁV with treasonous slips. As a transport expert, he constantly betrays his former colleagues, the railway workers, those who really keep the country moving.
János Lázár also responded to Vitézy's claims. "The developments you refer to and which we had to reschedule due to the sanctioned inflation, would by no means have been realized until this weekend. Not even if Dávid Vitézy's other dream before becoming mayor, the ministry of transport, comes true.
The tracks and trains of the MÁV are not the way they are because of the lack of Vitézy or my ministry, but because of the omissions of the past 30 years.

On Sunday evening, five cars of the Claudiopolis InterCity coming from Cluj derailed on the introductory track section in front of the Keleti railway station. No one was injured in the accident, but huge chaos ensued due to the closure of the busiest railway station. After the accident, traffic specialist Dávid Vitézy named János Lázár as the person responsible for the accident, Mandiner . Vitézy said, "on many switches in Keleti, the permitted speed is only 20 km/h due to the deterioration of the condition, it is better not to talk about the safety equipment of Nyugati. Nevertheless, János Lázár stopped all the Budapest railway investments that were being prepared, despite the amount of work that had already been done, and canceled the planning of the renovation of the sections leading to the Keleti railway station, despite the already acquired EU funds.
Mávinform already announced early in the morning that the Keleti railway station will be able to receive and start trains on the affected lines on Tuesday dawn and in the morning, and train traffic will gradually be restored.
