Pap Bianka won a silver medal in the 200 meter medley of the SM10 injury category at the Paris Paralympics on Saturday.

The 24-year-old competitor, who previously defended his title in the 100-meter backstroke and won a bronze medal in the 400 IM, entered the afternoon finals with the best time of the morning preliminaries, 2:33.28 minutes, which he was able to start on track 4 in the sold-out La Défense Arena. .

After the butterfly, he turned fourth, but then on the back, as expected, he took the lead, and on the breast he turned half a length ahead. At the same time, he was overtaken by the Chinese Zhang Meng, who swam in the 6th position, who then maintained and even increased his advantage, and Pap crossed the finish line in second place with 2:29.02 minutes, thus completing his collection of medals in Paris. Lisa Kruger, who finished in third place, was disqualified for the first time, but the Dutch team defended successfully, so in the end she won the bronze medal.

"I really enjoyed this final," Pap Bianka began her assessment of MTI.

"After 100 meters I believed I could win it. I didn't see the Chinese one at all, I think it ran away from me, because it is much stronger. Even during the breaststroke round, I was thinking that I was faster than the Dutch girl swimming next to me, but then I noticed that someone was really gone. At that point, my world collapsed a little, I tried again, but I knew that I could no longer overcome this disadvantage. I'm a little disappointed because during the song I thought it was going to be a gold medal, but I would have signed any time in advance to take home such a collection. I think it's really cool, I'm the only one from the Hungarian team to have it"

- He told.

The Hungarian athlete revealed that he has known his victorious Chinese rival for eight years, but according to him, "no one has improved as much in one year as he has."

"It's surprising, that's all I'm saying," he said.
