The PDSZ does not aim to assert professional interests.
The Tanítanék Mozgalom and the Democratic Union of Pedagogues (PDSZ) shot a buck with Monday's demonstration held in front of Imre Madách High School,
the action against the restriction of mobile phones in schools, and the protest against the dismissal of the director who opposed the decree aimed at this, because practically no one took part in it apart from the teachers and students of the high school.
In spite of the fact that the political demonstration of the civilians was supported by a few parties, including Momentum, which appears at every opposition movement.
The politically-based demonstration announced for the first day of the school year - as the analyst and philosopher Ervin Nagy said - failed because parents are beginning to understand the government's intention, because it is not a total ban of digital devices, as the PDSZ emphasized, but a limitation.
We are not talking about a total ban, but a restriction. And parents understand that the goal is to protect children from the dangers of being digital, to ensure healthy physical and mental development, and to regulate the use of smartphones in school, because - and many psychologists agree - their excessive use causes addiction , impairs social skills
- said the analyst, who says that the provision and the government's intention are clear, and parents are beginning to understand this, which is why the majority of society supports this.
Ervin Nagy emphasized that the Tanítanék Mozgalom and the PDSZ, which is an organization registered as a trade union, have proven in recent years that their goal is not to assert professional interests, but to create political sentiment.
It has been proven in countless cases in recent years that in their case we are not talking about civil initiatives taking on education issues, but about opposition political actors.
In addition, about political actors who started to create a political mood with every change in legislation affecting education: they protested, organized demonstrations, attacked the government, regardless of whether the change had a political consequence, relevance, intention or reason.
Regardless of whether it reflected the politics of the right-wing values, it always started to create a political mood in every case. That's what it's all about now. The government was not guided by ideological intentions when it submitted the related laws and created the decree, but by the challenges of the times, which hinder the healthy physical and mental development of our children, which is a constitutional right, Ervin Nagy emphasized. He added that the fact that the PDSZ is protesting alongside the director of a school who consciously did not want to comply with the laws and encouraged the school's students to do so is definitely considered a political mood-raising.
A principal who does not follow the law cannot manage an institution where children are studying.
The task of the PDSZ would be to collect the emerging problems, not to organize demonstrations and create an atmosphere against the government, because this is not a professional representation of interests, but a political role, he emphasized.
The analyst also pointed out that there are currently some digital restrictions in 11 European countries, in France, for example, they started restricting the use of phones in 200 schools in January, and to this day they are testing what problems arise in practice.
In Brussels, for example
In the European School No. 1 in Brussels, where the children of MEP representatives and diplomats attend, the use of mobile phones has been regulated for two years, which according to the policy means a complete ban, i.e. they cannot even bring the phone inside
- he pointed out, indicating that Western Europe behaves in this problem in the same way as the Hungarian government, and they are trying to regulate the use of the tools provided by the digital age.
According to Ervin Nagy, the parties also ran into a hole by supporting Monday's political demonstration. - Momentum is in a hurry, trying to get involved in everything, which is no wonder, since they have been in a downward spiral since the election failure, currently hovering at 1-2 percent. The liberal party believes that today's 16-17-year-olds, i.e. future voters, can be bullied, that young people can be incited, and this is what Momentum is riding on. This is irresponsible political behavior, since it is not about a long-term educational strategy, but about momentary political gain.
In other words, the Momentum that apes the West the most is raging against what is increasingly common in the West as well.
They desperately cling to everything that can be used to inflame people, while the other parties are more cautious, they perceive that the restriction of digital devices in schools is not a Hungarian characteristic, said Ervin Nagy.
