Against the blinded rhetoric of war, the countries that are on the side of a negotiated peace are those who, under the name Friends of Peace, form the community that wants to end the Russian-Ukrainian war through negotiations.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó, also participated in the "Great Week" of the UN, who announced on his Facebook page that three European countries, including our country, were invited to the meeting of the 15 founders, perhaps not by chance.

"This is the most important event today. Fifteen countries are now coming together under the leadership of China and Brazil, as the states of the Global South are fed up with having to pay the price of a war thousands of kilometers away.

The leaders of the meeting decided to invite three European countries: Hungary, France and Switzerland.
A few things can be said for sure:
  • 1) The whole world is fed up with the inability of the Europeans or the transatlantic community to end this war.
  • 2) Hungary supports this initiative and is ready to participate in the work of the group.
  • 3) The goal of the Friends of Peace group is to advocate for a negotiated solution in Ukraine along the lines of the Sino-Brazilian peace plan. All points of this proposal can be supported, so it would be possible to guarantee that our country is also safe in the neighborhood of war.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs was asked about the aspirations of the Friends of Peace group, the interview can be viewed by clicking on the post's "Facebook Watch" icon.
