He spent his last days with his family and friends. Thank you for all the kind messages and support, and we ask everyone to respect our privacy and grief," read the lines, reported by the BBC.
Maggie Smith was born on December 28, 1934 in England to Nathaniel Smith and Margaret Little. He made his debut in Oxford in 1952 and then worked in a London revue. He played in several London theaters and on Broadway. He has been appearing in films since 1958.
Her best-known role is Professor Minerva McGonagall, whom she brought to life in the Harry Potter films between 2001 and 2011. His other films include Love and Pain, The Damned Thing, Murder with Death, Death on the Nile, Clash of the Titans, Evil Under the Sun, The Nun Show.
In 2003, he won an Emmy for My House in Umbria. He won two Oscars for The Bloom of Miss Jean Brodie and The California Suite.
