"The 150-member National Congress could choose from 5 presidential candidates: Norbert Becse, Zoltán Cziprusz, László Gubík, György Gyimesi and Péter Pandy. Based on the first statement of the new president, he wants to work on "creating a modern and constructive party representing the Hungarian minority", which also represents the interests of the regions inhabited by national minorities.
Among his most important program points, he mentioned the development of a status law, with which he would initiate public law debates on the electoral reform in parallel. He calls for the establishment of a think tank that would help the party's decision-making. According to the plans of the new president, the specialist committees set up by the party will include both community and civil specialists.
Gubík added that he is initiating the establishment of a Hungarian local government association in Slovakia, and is counting on the partnership of natural Slovak allies.
