A scandalous case has come to light in the district led by Sándor Szaniszló of DK. The authority is re-investigating the case of the "incomplete" declaration of assets of one of the left-wing representatives, which may reveal the concealment of a multimillion-dollar contract.
On the suspicion of using a false private document, they are re-investigating in connection with the property declaration of Dániel Kassai, a left-wing municipal representative from Pestszentlőrinc, according to the prosecutor's response to the Magyar Nemzet.
As they wrote, "the Budapest Police Headquarters ordered an investigation in December 2023 due to the suspicion of the offense of using a false private document, and then terminated the investigation in the detective department in June 2024".
They added: "the competent Budapest XVIII. and XIX. Acting within its powers, the District Prosecutor's Office overturned the decision of the investigative authority in mid-September 2024 and called the police to conduct the investigation - according to the additional aspects to be investigated, which are necessary for the merits of the case. The procedure is in the discovery phase."
The background of the case is that a year ago it was said in the Hír TV program Célpont:
Dániel Kassai XVIII. was able to keep his employment contract in Kispest for a long time. district municipal representative, his declaration of assets signed in January 2020 did not include a previous, multimillion-dollar assignment. At the same time, Kassai denied that he had committed any illegality.
It turned out that Kassai visited both LMP and Momentum in the XIX. he was given the opportunity by the district socialist self-government to act as a tender monitor for the people of Kispest for one year. Previously, there were also suspicions that he could have been given this job because he stepped down in favor of Ágnes Kunhalmi during the 2018 elections, but this was categorically denied by those involved.
After the case broke out, Sándor Szaniszló told Hír TV that he had not discussed this with his fellow representative, but in his opinion this is irrelevant. Szaniszló's fellow mayor, Péter Gajda, said that they were recommended to the XVIII. district representative, and they only had a contract with him for one year.
This is not the only scandal in the SE district led by Szaniszló, as it was revealed a few weeks ago that the National Investigation Agency (NNI) is still investigating the XVIII. due to the district's suspicious real estate affairs.
