The police spoke out about the horrific attack on the disabled retired father of Olympian Miklós Dudás, in which the 55-year-old man suffered such serious injuries that he has been in a coma ever since.

"The Life Protection Department of the BRFK initiated proceedings on suspicion of a crime of bodily harm causing a threat to life.
The capital police launched a manhunt in the case, and all of the suspected perpetrators were arrested within a day and a half; one man was interrogated as a suspect on suspicion of a crime of bodily harm causing a threat to life, while five other men were questioned on suspicion of a crime of disorder committed by a group.
The police also detained four suspects. A detailed investigation of the case is underway, and we are unable to provide more information due to the interests of the procedure."
The Hungarian Olympian shared on his social media page on Wednesday that his father was attacked by six boxers. "My father is a 55-year-old disabled pensioner, just so you know. He is in a coma after he was run over and killed at a gas station," wrote Miklós Dudás, adding that his father is currently in an awake coma.

The incident happened on August 30 at a gas station and lasted only one and a half minutes.
Two cars stopped, six boxers got out, and they started kicking my 56-year-old father, a disabled pensioner. When I ran to him, I was also hit. I heard my father's head smashing into the concrete - the world champion kayaker explained the incident in detail.
After the emergency services were notified, his father was immediately hospitalized, and in addition to his physical injuries, he also suffered from meningitis and blood poisoning. The athlete calls for the perpetrators to be punished as soon as possible.
