Kevin Roberts, president of the Heritage Foundation analysis center, received a high-ranking Hungarian state award on Monday in Washington for his role in strengthening Hungarian-American relations.

Zsolt Németh, the chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament, presented the head of the American conservative research institute with the award of the civilian section of the Hungarian Order of Merit, awarded by the President of the Hungarian Republic.

The recognition was awarded to the American public figure, who visited Hungary several times, at the initiative of Hungary's ambassador to Washington.

Ambassador Szabolcs Takács told MTI:

the award was justified, among other things, by the fact that Kevin Roberts plays a central role in fostering relations between Hungarian and American conservative institutions and personalities.

As part of this, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán gave a presentation at the headquarters of the Heritage Foundation during his March visit on the cornerstones of Hungarian foreign policy.

In his statement to MTI, Kevin Roberts stated that Hungary also plays a role in the American conservative renewal, among other things, with the policy of prioritizing the nation-state and sovereignty, which American and Western people should be reminded of today.
