Efforts to attack the sovereignty of the EU member states, including Hungary, are becoming more and more open and intense.

Led by Ursula von der Leyen and Manfred Weber, the anti-Hungarian political circles in Brussels have taken action, according to the announcement of the Office for the Protection of Sovereignty on Thursday, which draws attention to the strikingly rhyming statements of Brussels and Hungarian politicians.

Since the European Parliament elections, those efforts in the institutional system of the European Union which directly attack the sovereignty of the member states, especially Hungary's constitutional self-identity, have intensified.

The trend is not new, but the intensity and undisguised nature of the attacks is, the communique highlights.

The Office for the Protection of Sovereignty points out: Manfred Weber, the president of the European People's Party, made it clear in his speech to the European Parliament last week that he considers the removal of the legally elected government to be his main task in the coming period.

In recent days, the European People's Party went even further and called for the resignation of the Hungarian Prime Minister in an unprecedented way.

Weber previously expressed his objections to Hungary with full openness when he said: "I voted against all of Hungary with Article 7. Not Fidesz, not Viktor Orbán, but against the entire country." According to the Office for the Protection of Sovereignty, it becomes clear from all this that

it is not about a party political or ideological struggle, but about the fact that these actors have set their sights on limiting Hungary's sovereignty and are illegitimately interfering in Hungary's internal affairs, since only the Hungarian voters have the right to decide who will lead the country.

Some EU leaders act with the obvious intention - as they have done in the case of other European countries recently - to force a political change deemed favorable to them by putting pressure on Hungary, external influence and financial blackmail of the Hungarian electorate, highlights the communique, which also states:

in order to do this, they want to deprive Hungary of the EU resources it is rightfully entitled to, they want to undermine our country's EU presidency, and they want to limit Hungary's right to vote in the EU.

This campaign seriously violates democratic processes and national sovereignty. EU leaders abuse their powers and use blackmail as a tool, as well as the financing of political activity and disinformation propaganda against Hungary. K

the fact that there are actors in Hungary that facilitate the implementation of foreign intervention means a high risk, the office emphasizes.

The Office for the Protection of Sovereignty has the duty to warn: there is no such thing as a nation giving up "just a tiny part" of its sovereignty. Whoever loses his sovereignty becomes a servant of foreign interests from one day to the next.
