They are looking for the lady who can be the face of Balaton!
After a long preparatory work, the "Face of Balaton" project was launched with the intention of creating a tradition, which will be a fresh spot of color on the Hungarian sea.
The goal of the organizers is to find the lady who is best able to personify the natural beauty and uniqueness of Lake Balaton. During the competition, the applicants take part in several rounds of competition, during which a professional and civilian jury decides who will be the face of Balaton.
The Face of Balaton initiative is not a beauty contest: the organizers do not only focus on external beauty, but also evaluate the character, inner values and their connection to Lake Balaton.
Lake Balaton is not only a beautiful landscape, but also the largest lake in Central Europe and one of Hungary's most important cultural and tourist treasures. We are looking for an ambassador who authentically represents the culture and unparalleled beauty of the region
- said Károly Bánki, the president of the Balaton Aranykora Foundation and the founder of the Facebook group Balatoni vértymmentés, on behalf of the organizers.
During the competition, the applicants compare their skills in various tasks and show their "true faces", which include photo shoots, fashion shows and participation in cultural events. The final decision is made by a professional jury.
The competition consists of several rounds: based on the photos submitted by the applicants, the internationally recognized photographer István Lukács, the creator of the Face of Balaton initiative, selects those with whom a Balaton portfolio will be created.
The organizers will upload the best recordings to the public Facebook groups of Balatoni vértuttés and Balaton face, where you will be able to vote for your favourites.
All women between the ages of 16 and 30 who are committed to the values of Lake Balaton can apply for the competition. In order to apply, in addition to the textual introduction, two pictures must be sent via the official website of the competition ( www.balatonarca.hu ) to the e-mail address: balatonarca.hu. The deadline for submission is March 31, 2025.
The final will be held on July 5, 2025 at a spectacular season-opening gala, where the face of Balaton for 2025 will be chosen.
The winner will be awarded the title "Face of Balaton 2025" and will promote products and services related to Balaton for a year, and will also represent the prominent tourist destination at numerous events. His task will be to promote the special attraction of Lake Balaton, as well as participation in charity and community projects, advertising photography with collaborating partners, local businesses and service providers.
The organizers hope that the slogan of one of István Komáromi's compositions will accompany the Face of Balaton initiative:
Smiles on faces, warmth in hearts, only clear voices, hope in eyes.
From the applications received - in order to popularize its narrower homeland - each municipality can choose its "own" face of Balaton.
Until the Face of Balaton 2025 is elected, the model Adrienn Tóth in our featured image will promote the project.
