A photovoltaic panel assembly plant is being built in Sepsiszentgyörgy, more precisely in Szépmező.
KBK Kraft Kraft Project is building Romania's first photovoltaic panel factory in Covaszna County - the company signed a contract with the Ministry of Energy on Thursday to receive a 19.3 million euro grant from the national recovery plan (PNRR), the ministry said.
KBK Kraft Projekt is a Brasov-based construction company with an annual turnover of more than 11 million lei, whose owners are Bessarabian entrepreneurs with Romanian citizenship Veaceslav Caragacian, Nicolae Bosii and Andrei Jelescu, Profit.ro reports. The company plans to build a photovoltaic panel assembly plant in Sepsiszentgyörgy, more precisely in Szépmező.
The investment is planned for an area of nearly one hectare and will have a production capacity of more than 430 panels per day.
On Thursday, the Ministry of Energy signed two contracts on investments aimed at setting up electricity storage batteries, which are also financed from the recovery fund. One of the investments is implemented by Electrica Rt.: the project includes the construction of electricity storage capacity, related facilities, transformer stations and transformer stations, internal electrical networks, fences, connections and external connections to the national energy system. The state subsidy is 16.8 million lei. In the meantime, Renovatio Trading is putting energy storage batteries into operation in Maroshévíz, Hargita county, with a state subsidy of 15.1 million lei.
"We have just signed the first contracts under the national recovery program to support the production of photovoltaic panels in Romania and the storage of batteries. In the summer, we all saw how important and necessary investments in electricity storage capacities are. In addition to their role in balancing the system, the storage capacities allow us to utilize the cheap and green energy produced by solar and wind power plants even when the sun is not shining or the wind is not blowing. This way we get safer and cheaper energy"
- quoted Energy Minister Sebastian Burduja in the ministry's announcement.
