The Brussels newspaper wrote about Hungary's "retraction".
Politico wrote an article about the relationship between Péter Magyar and Brussels, which recalled one of the politician's statements in which Magyar said: he does not believe that he would have friends in Brussels.
But the article also covered the results of the European Parliament elections in June, in which Fidesz won 45 percent of the votes, and Péter Magyar won a mandate and became a representative of the European People's Party.
In addition to the above, however, the Brussels paper almost spoke for itself, as it pointed out in its article:
For Brussels, Magyar may represent a chance to "redirect" Hungary to the path it envisions, since Viktor Orbán has been in conflict with the EU institutions for years due to his growing influence.
As Politico added: Ursula von der Leyen, the president of the European Commission, will visit Budapest on November 7 to participate in the summit of the European Political Community. According to the Brussels paper, Péter Magyar hopes to meet the President of the Commission in person.
