There will be an average salary of HUF one million here - confirmed the prime minister, who also talked about economic issues and the summit of the Western world coming to Budapest in an interview on Kossuth Rádió on Friday morning.
When we talk about the difficulties of the European economy, we are not talking about a specific Hungarian point of view, but about a shared opinion, which is also acknowledged by the leaders - the Prime Minister told Kossuth Rádió Good morning, Hungary! in his show.
Viktor Orbán recalled that recently the French President Emmanuel Macron and Mario Draghi, the former President of the European Central Bank, made much stronger and harsher statements about the public conditions in Europe. He added that the French president said that the European Union will die if it does not urgently improve its competitiveness, former Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi wrote in his report that if the European Union does not do something urgently, the entire European economy will suffer .
It is clear that it is not a specific Hungarian point of view when we talk about the difficulties of the European economy, but rather a shared opinion confessed by the leaders in their honest moments
- stated the Hungarian Prime Minister, adding that the French President plays a key role in creating a more competitive European economy.
"Now the Hungarians are no longer the only ones in the crowd who see the king naked, now there are more and more of them"
he said.
Summits everywhere
The Prime Minister drew attention to the summits of "the Eastern and Western world". The first one was recently held by the BRICS leaders in Kazan, but on November 7, the summit of the Western world will take place in Hungary. Two events follow each other on two days, the first is the meeting of the European Political Community, and then the leaders of the 27 countries of the union will meet in Budapest one day later. In his meeting with the French president in Paris on Tuesday, the November 7 event came into focus, which he said was "the child of the French president".
Hungary will not only provide the venue for the meeting, but will also act as the host in terms of the development of the "intellectual content", and the topic will be the competitiveness of the European Union economy. It is particularly interesting that the occasion will take place two days after the US presidential election, which, according to the Prime Minister, could create a new situation in the world.
Hungary must follow its own path
Viktor Orbán declared that in 2025 "we will have a fantastic year" in the Hungarian economy. Explaining the model of economic neutrality, he said that Hungary cannot look at a successful example and translate it, but "we have to go our own way", otherwise the difficulties affecting the European economy will be swept away. The Eastern model is culturally inapplicable, so an economic model that can be tailored to Hungary must be compiled from examples known around the world. "Everything that is good from the West and the East must be adopted," he said, adding that this way of thinking is hidden by the policy of neutrality.
Hungary has the right to its own economic policy, which only requires ability and courage
Viktor Orbán declared.
The Prime Minister sees that Cold War thinking has also appeared in the economy.
"They are building a conflict not only in the field of security, but also in the economy"
- he said, adding that the Westerners also want to wage war in the economy. Although it seemed that there was no room for maneuver in the Russo-Ukrainian war, Hungary was nevertheless left out, so, according to his words, "it is possible to stay out of the faulty, bad economic policy." He emphasized that an agreement could also be reached with Mark Rutte, the new NATO Secretary General.
Hungary is a pebble in the shoes of the EU
According to the Prime Minister, it would be more convenient for the Westerners if Hungary, which acts like a pebble in the shoes of the European Union, changed its policy. The prime minister recalled the last EU hearing, when, as the prime minister put it, the plan prepared by Manfred Weber and Ursula von der Leyen was thrust into the Hungarians' faces, adding that "it's over".
They need a puppet government, let's talk straight. All empires are like that, the Soviets were like that, weren't they?
said the prime minister, who sees that they want a "jawohl" (yes - ed.) government in Brussels. The Prime Minister stated that Hungarians cannot expect this, as they do not want to see a puppet state instead of an independent country.
Viktor Orbán sees that Brussels has disputes with Hungary about economic policy. The prime minister collected the EU's economic demands, among which he mentioned the need for higher taxes, while the taxes levied on the "multis" would be withdrawn. He included the "continuous attack" , and in addition, pension reform is being urged in Brussels, which, according to the prime minister, would essentially mean the abolition of the 13th monthly pension. The Prime Minister added that they would also advocate for the reduction of agricultural subsidies in the Union.
If the Hungarian government gives in, if there is a puppet government in Hungary, then the question is not who the prime minister is, but what consequences this will have for the people. These are serious things. Those who mix with the people of Brussels today will carry out these programs, no matter what they say, because their owners are still patting their heads - the dog's head at this time, the buck's patting - but if they succeed in bringing the puppet government to power, then they will come instructions and must carry out what Brussels wants. Brussels wants good things and bad things at times. These are bad things
Viktor Orbán stated, adding that "today we have a government that does good things and rejects bad things".
