The Brussels paper launched an attack.
On Saturday, parliamentary elections were held in Georgia, which the right-wing, pro-peace party called Georgian Dream won with 54 percent of the votes. The party can count on 91 mandates in the 150-person legislature, which is 60.6 percent of the seats.
The opposition parties announced after the election that they did not recognize the official results, one politician called them a "constitutional coup".
"There is nothing new under the sun: the election in Georgia on Saturday was not won by those who were appointed by Brussels and the liberal mainstream, but by the pro-sovereignty, peace and pro-family ruling party, which openly prioritizes the national interest," Facebook responded to the news. Péter Szijjártó on his side.
At the same time, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will pay an official visit to Georgia (Georgia) on October 28-29.
According to media reports, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze invited his Hungarian counterpart, and the delegation includes Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Economic Development Márton Nagy, and Minister of Finance Mihály Varga.
Politico reported the news in an interesting way: the Brussels paper directly claimed that the Hungarian Prime Minister's meeting with his Georgian counterpart was a "break" with the other leaders of the European Union.
The paper also reported that Josep Borrell, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, wrote in a joint statement with the European Commission about the weekend elections in Georgia that, in addition to intimidation and procedural irregularities, "unequal conditions of competition, a divisive campaign taking place in a polarized atmosphere, as well as significant concerns about the impact of recent legislative changes on the electoral process”.
Viktor Orbán's visit to Georgia confirmed on Sunday can only take place in a national capacity,
since the Hungarian Prime Minister cannot speak on behalf of the European Union, despite the fact that Hungary holds the position of the Union's president," said an anonymous EU diplomat to the Brussels newspaper.
In the past, it was received similarly in the Western press when Viktor Orbán started a peace mission to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian war.
