Václav Klaus, the former prime minister and president of the Czech Republic, also spoke at the V. EuCET event, who also emphasized the importance of nation states and normality.

Today, the topic of national sovereignty in the European Union can only be discussed at a conference in Hungary. Hungary is the only European country where, in the third decade of the 21st century, i.e. 35 years after the fall of communism, it makes sense to talk about nation-state sovereignty. In Europe, this term is branded as politically incorrect, in the member states it is considered a question of the day before yesterday, the Czech politician outlined.

It is our job to raise this important question again and again. The parties in the Union, both on the left and on the right, are trying to block that political entity, those questions that reflect the emotions of the European people.

- The task of politicians who think in terms of sovereignty is to achieve change according to the will of the European citizens before the self-destructive processes become fatal for the European Union.

We insist on returning to normality, but this is a revolutionary act these days

Václav Klaus remarked.
