Budapesti Közművek Nonprofit Zrt. announced on Tuesday that on the occasion of All Saints' Day and All Day of the Dead, cemeteries in the capital will open earlier and can continue to be visited from Thursday to Sunday.

According to the information, the funeral division of the company, as in previous years, will ensure that the relatives can remember their loved ones in a dignified way during this period.

In their announcement, they also mentioned that the offices of the public cemeteries are on call from Wednesday to Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for various funeral-related matters. And on All Saints' Day and the Day of the Dead, the Farkasrét cemetery office offers the opportunity to re-exchange the graves for payment in installments.

In order to ensure the tranquility of the burial sites, from Friday to Sunday - as in previous years - it is forbidden to drive into the capital's cemeteries, with the exception of the new public cemetery in Rákoskeresztúr, where - depending on the cemetery's traffic and saturation - you can enter it free of charge from 7 a.m. on Friday to 8 p.m. on Sunday .

Due to the significant car traffic around the cemeteries and the limited parking options, commemorators are asked to primarily use public transport.

During the period of All Saints' Day and Day of the Dead, cemeteries are provided with a reinforced police service, and district police units, public area inspectors and members of the Civil Guard also patrol on busy days, the announcement states. The first of November is All Saints' Day, and the second of November is the Day of the Dead in the Christian world.
