In a resolution, Fidesz would have prevented migrants from being moved to municipally owned rental apartments in Budapest.
The Tisza is also the voice of Brussels in the capital! He complains about the resettlement of migrants and wants to cancel the utility bill, the leader of the Fidesz-KDNP faction in the capital drew attention on Facebook.
In a post uploaded to her social media page on Thursday, Alexandra Szentkirályi emphasized that the two key issues in alleviating the housing crisis are the utility subsidy system and sufficient housing.
Péter Magyar's Budapest representatives in the Capital Assembly supported the position of their Brussels representative, who would abolish the overhead reduction, therefore they voted down our proposal to strengthen the overhead reduction, he pointed out.
He added: the representatives of the ruling party also proposed to the Capital Assembly that they should pass a resolution preventing the relocation of migrants to self-governed rental apartments in Budapest.
"The liberal rainbow coalition, including the representatives of the Tisza Party, did not vote for this proposal of ours either. No wonder, they recently voted in favor of strengthening and speeding up the migration pact in Brussels," said Alexandra Szentkirályi, noting that it is common practice in the big cities of countries that support immigration to settle migrants in municipal rental apartments.
Referring to the representatives of the Tisza Party, the faction leader said: if it were up to them, Brussels could easily settle migrants into municipal apartments in the capital, as they have already done in many capitals, and they could also cancel the utility reduction.
In the video accompanying the post, Alexandra Szentkirályi said: the Tisza party is double-talking because they voted against Hungarian interests in the European Parliament, and in Budapest they are trying to evade responsibility. He added: he would really like to see how the party's representatives think about the issue of utility reduction and migration.
"The reduction in utilities is still protecting the Hungarian people, the people of Budapest as well. In addition, I think you should stand up first and foremost, because your representative made a statement to the contrary," he underlined.
